Trilio is led by sought-after industry vets with experience at some of the world’s fastest-growing and largest data protection and copy data virtualization companies — including EMC, Actifio, and StorageNetworks. Collectively, our team has had a role in creating industry-standard data protection tools, defining and reporting on market-defining industry trends, and building new ventures through leadership and investment.
Led by veteran CEO David Safaii, we’re pushing to develop technology that challenges the status quo and actually helps deliver scalable data protection through cloud-native tools and software.
Prior to leading Trilio, David founded and served as SVP of BurstPoint Networks. During his tenure with the company, he successfully raised venture funding, grew revenues, and exited with an acquisition by Avaya. Previously, David was a Principal at Windspeed Ventures, focused on investing in and working with portfolio companies in infrastructure software as it relates to the digital media, communications, mobile, security, storage, internet of things, and software-as-a-service markets. He helped manage one of the largest venture portfolios in the US. Prior to his tenure at Windspeed, David served with the Technology Investment Banking Group at CIBC World Markets. With a B.A in Computer Information Processing from Boston College, David has been recognized by Boston Business Journal as one of Boston’s “40 Under 40” and a “New Leader” award recipient from Banker & Tradesmen.
Outside of Trilio, David enjoys tennis, FIFA soccer, and seeking out live music. David is an advocate for volunteerism. He founded the New England Venture Network (NEVN), the largest networking group of young venture capital professionals on the East Coast. He served as Board Director at the United Way and as a Techstars mentor, and is the founding City Director for House of Genius.
Murali is actively involved with OpenStack community, particularly in the areas of storage and data protection. He has a Masters in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a Bachelors from Andhra University, Hyderabad.
In his spare time, Murali enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his family.

While at Actifio he initiated the Service Provider program and brokered and managed key relationships with Verizon, IBM, and SunGard. He also held previous roles at market-making technology suppliers EMC/Avamar and StorageNetworks, and was an industry analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, Gartner Group, and IDC.

While at Actifio, Field served as a Principal Solutions Architect, and was a core component to the Northeast Sales team. He also held previous roles at EMC Corporation and Doyenz.
Boaz previously focused on mobile telecom technologies, specializing in IP telephony where he was deeply involved in the definition and standardization of 3G and 4G technologies. At Trilio, he now closes the loop by building telco-grade, data protection products to help service providers adopt NFV and OpenStack.
For leisure, Boaz plays the guitar and tries to sing in tune with his band.
Prior to Trilio, Katie led the marketing team at Codiscope (acquired by Synopsys), where she built and grew the fledgling brand and focused on empowering software engineers to build security into the software they create. Earlier in her career, she was part of a spin-out at GenArts (acquired by BorisFX) and their Vivoom consumer division.
Katie fills her weekends with art and world history, day trips around New England, and tiring out her new pup, Bodie.
